Art & Chalk Fest 2018 takes place on Saturday, July 28 from 9:00-5:00, and Sunday, July 29 from 10:00-4:00 at the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend, Wisconsin. Museum hours are 10:00-5:00 for the duration of the weekend.
Yes. There is no cost to attend Art & Chalk Fest 2018. The Museum is also free and open to the public for the duration of the weekend.
Yes. Winners are announced on Saturday and celebrated with an awards ceremony on Sunday. More information to come for the 2018 event.

A blind selection by judges is based on several criteria including medium, quality, application information, and more.

Art and Chalk Fest 2018 will take place on Saturday, July 28 from 9:00-5:00 and Sunday, July 29 from 10:00-4:00. The public is welcome to walk by the chalk art during the evening hours. There will be 24-hour security on the premises.
The Museum of Wisconsin Art is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10:00-5:00.
Art & Chalk Fest is free and open to the public. The museum is also to the public to encourage all to experience the visual arts of Wisconsin. MOWA will offer specials on memberships during the weekend to encourage future participation in special events, programs, exhibitions and activities for all ages throughout the year.

Yes, there will be bike racks on site. Foot and bike transportation is encouraged since MOWA sits along the Eisenbahn State Trail.

Yes! Absolutely. We encourage children and adults of all ages to experience Art & Chalk Fest. There are activities for everyone.
Since some of the chalk artists use a type of non-toxic chalk that can stain pavement, the artwork will be washed away the next day. We encourage you to come on both Saturday and Sunday to experience the artistic process, see the final work, and celebrate the artists.
On Monday, July 30, we will say good bye with a special ceremony. Please join us at 10 a.m.
The show will go on! Artist booths are prepared for rain and shopping will still be available. Other activities may be moved inside the museum.
Depending on the severity of the weather, the chalk art will continue as planned outdoors and may be tarped to protect the artwork.
Weather is all part of the ephemeral process.

Yes. We offer opportunities for nearby handicap parking, drop-off locations, and accessible sidewalks, ramps, and an indoor elevator to explore the galleries.
